11/13/2023 0 Comments Aim high academy grant program![]() ![]() Students will receive academic advising to help them choose a degree path, complete their degree on time, and graduate from Otero College. Students are paired with faculty, staff and peer mentors who will help acquaint students with the Otero culture, provide information on services, careers, and give general support to the student throughout their academic experience at Otero. A high school transcript with most current grades and current GPA (copies accepted) A scholarship essay. AIM HIGH is a merit-based, means-tested matching grant pilot program by the State of Illinois. The Aspirational Institutional Match Helping Illinois Grow Higher Education (AIM HIGH) Grant Pilot Program provides aid towards a full-time undergraduate student’s cost of attendance at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Eligibility is determined on the students expected family contribution and family income. The AIM program offers Mentoring and Advising programs. Application Process for the AIM-High Program. AIM HIGH Grant for New Freshmen (entering 2021-22, 2022-24) Award Amount. Be a full-time (12 hours per semester) incoming freshman at NIU in the fall of 2023. Have a cumulative 3.0 high school GPA or higher. Be a graduate of an Illinois high school during the 2022-2023 school year. ![]() Do you need guidance and support to achieve your goals? To be eligible for a Huskie Pledge Grant, you must: Be an Illinois resident. Our case manager provides one-on-one assistance to students as well as offering workshops and wellness programs to help students build life skills. The orientation programs also focus on helping families better understand how they can support their student. Students will better understand the processes and expectations of becoming a successful college student. The AIM program focuses on Building College Readiness through the development of expanded in-person and online orientation programs. The Aim High grant program is part of the New York Life Foundation’s ongoing investment in OST programs to help middle school youth in under-resourced communities reach the 9th grade on time and better prepared for high school.
